Kayla Belanger
Introduction
I am a sophomore majoring in Chemical Engineering, with a pharmaceutical focus, and French. I am a part of the International Engineering Program, living with a French exchange student roommate in the IEP House, and will study abroad (in France) in 2012-2013. I will attend L'Université de Technologie de Compiègne for a semester and spend the rest of the calender year with an internship. When I am not studying, I love to play tennis, play a game of pick up soccer, go for a run, play the piano, and (my new hobby/obsession) salsa dance!
Some random facts in a addition to the exterior ones..... I love classical music. But solely piano; I don't like an orchestra. Claude Debussy is my absolute favorite composer (Chopin as my second), and I love to play classical music while studying because it makes me feel smarter. Also, the only music I choose to learn on the piano is classical pieces. One that I started learning recently is the 1st Arabesque by Debussy. its wonderful, look it up. I work very hard, but also play hard. I love the idea of climbing trees, but I'm afraid of heights. I only watch three shows on TV, but
do so religiously.
; Big Bang Theory, Chuck, and Burn Notice. My favorite movies are
Anchorman and Wedding Crashers...I love almost anything with Will Ferrell and I can easily whip out a quote to fit into daily conversation...
My actual favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption, and A beautiful Mind. I am always up for bowling and last week I bowled a 178. I have been bragging about it to everyone. As of quite recently, my obsession has been salsa dancing. If I could triple major in Engineering, French, and Salsa Dancing, I would do it. I am from Hudson, New Hampshire, and I am the first member of my immediate family to not attend UNH. After graduating in 2014, I dream of going to MIT. I am sure I will eventually get a PhD in something.
